In a coordinated effort with Recreation Center Physical Therapy (RCPT) the Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ) program will focus on improving the players movement and acceleration. By emphasizing fundamental mechanics, the player will be better prepared to develop explosiveness and quickness improving change of speed and change of direction.
Each player will experience actions developed from the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) test which evaluates range of motion. This information will impact each player’s placement into the appropriate SAQ environment. RCPT Physical Therapists have shared exercises specifically geared towards improving range of motion. Additional workouts will emphasize running mechanics, lateral movement, quick feet and acceleration.
